Detox Lunch For This Beautiful Weekend
Mother Nature is finally ready to give us more days of beautiful, warmer weather and with this, comes a natural pull towards eating lighter, fresh and cool dishes. This salad is easy to make and you can have it for lunch or dinner. You can even have it for breakfast if you want!
I love this recipe because it is filling, is full of protein, good fats and fibre. You'll also be getting a good amount of cabbage which is from one of my favourite families of vegetables: the Brassica family, which also includes broccoli, cauliflower and Brussel sprouts. This group of vegetables contain a phytochemical called indole-3-carbinol (I3C), which has been shown to have hormone regulating activity by helping the liver with its detoxification pathways. This means, that it can be of benefit for conditions such as premenstrual syndrome (PMS), polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), painful periods and acne. Most importantly, it's delicious and the whole family can enjoy it.
